NEW RESTAURANT "BLACK IRON" TO OPEN IN WINSTANLEY HOUSE THIS WEEKEND..

Discerning diners will soon be able to  enjoy premium British food served in a  stunning setting, as Winstanley House  launches its restaurant, Black Iron. The  modern restaurant, steakhouse and bar  which will open to the public on  Saturday will celebrate the very best of  British produce. Customers can rest assured that not only has the meat been sourced and produced in a responsible way, but that the team have handpicked the best cuts on offer from Onley Grounds Farm, Rugby. In addition to Onley Ground steaks, the menu includes corn-fed chicken breast, whole roasted sea bream and lamb rump. Sides include beef dripping fries and horseradish mash. The centrepiece of Black Iron will be a Bertha charcoal-fired oven, which will treat the premium produce with the first-class cooking method it deserves. The menu will also include a range of vegetarian and gluten-free options, such as courgette flan (v) and crispy pork belly (GF). The restaurant's beautiful bar will offer an extensive wine list, with more than 160 options, from French classics to award-winning English wines. There will also be more than 40 beers available, including locally brewed Black Iron Lager, and an impressive gin and cocktail list. Situated within the beautiful Winstanley House, Black Iron is just a few minutes drive from the centre of Leicester, but once you're at the venue, surrounded by parkland, you'll feel a million miles from the busy city.

The restaurant is part of the full refurbishment of the Grade II listed hall, which has seen it transformed into a luxurious wedding and event venue. The building has been brought back to life by the team behind Leicester's The City Rooms, much to the delight of manager director, Kiran Parmar. Kiran commented: "Black Iron adds a fantastic extra layer to our offering at Winstanley House. The locally-sourced produce is of the highest quality and it will be served in a truly beautiful setting. "Alongside the opening of Winstanley House as an event venue and hotel, we want Black Iron to be celebrated as a destination in its own right. Extreme care has been taken over every detail, including the first class cooking methods and extensive drinks selection. "The team here have personally visited the farms, vineyards and breweries whose end products make up our menus. We really want to showcase the very best of Leicestershire and we can't wait to start welcoming people in!"
